Our thoughts
Overthinking
When we think about mindfulness it's important to know that it's not just about meditating. When we get caught up in our thoughts this can be a difficult place to be.
Having everything go in your head can feel like a grey and very cloudy sky right before a storm. And more often than not thoughts just like clouds do pass to allow for some sunshine.
With that approach in mind, meditation as a practice and tool can make it seem like we floating through our thoughts organising them and watching them pass.
Meditation begins and ends in the body. It involves taking the time to pay attention to where we are and what’s going on, and that starts with being aware of our body. That very act can be calming since our body has internal rhythms that help it relax if we give it a chance.
What's going on with you right now at this moment?
Check-in with yourself and use the thought cloud worksheet to make some notes. Writing things down is also a great mindfulness practice. It's also a great habit to get into before and after meditation.
